Eden Prairie wins Substate 3, advances

The Eden Prairie American Legion baseball team did it again.

Well, kind of.

 

In June, the Eden Prairie High School baseball team won its way to the state tournament by winning the highly competitive Section 2-4A tournament.

 

Eden Prairie had entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed.

 

Sunday, the Eden Prairie American Legion baseball team, a team made up of mostly Eden Prairie High School high school players, won its way to the state tournament by winning the high competitive Sub-State 3 tournament.

 

Eden Prairie was the No. 2 seed.

 

“The guys played really well at the right time,” said coach Scott Hackett.

Eden Prairie’s sub-state run started Tuesday, July 18, with 4-0 shutout of Holy Angels. Jack Zigan was the winning pitcher.
