Three Pitchers Team Up As Ham Lake Shuts Out Rochester Patriots


Ham Lake defeated Rochester Patriots 9-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Logan McDonald struck out Matt Smiley to finish off the game.

Ham Lake secured the victory thanks to five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Logan McDonald, a single by Seth Miller, a walk by Alex Winslow, and a single by Mike Gottschack.

One bright spot for Rochester Patriots was a single by Kyle Ebert in the fifth inning.
Sam Riola earned the win for Ham Lake. He went seven and two-thirds innings, surrendering zero runs, two hits, and striking out eight. Two relievers helped Ham Lake close out the victory.


McDonald threw one inning. Sam Boysen took the loss for Rochester Patriots. He pitched three innings, surrendering three runs, and four hits.
Ham Lake had 14 hits in the game. Jon Coello, Coner Melton, Gottschack, McDonald, Miller, and Joey Messier each collected multiple hits for Ham Lake.


Miller and McDonald each drove in two runs to lead Ham Lake. Ham Lake was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Messier had the most chances in the field with 11.
