St. Paul, MN - Eastview defeated Rochester Patriots 5-4 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off double by Logan Tollefson. The game was tied at four with Eastview batting in the bottom of the twelfth when Tollefson doubled off of Jack Boehm, driving in the winning run. Boehm reached base after being hit by a pitch to lead off the twelfth.
Eastview (23-11) captured the lead in the second inning. An error scored two runs for Eastview. The error was one of 5 committed by the Patriots that led to a pair of unearned runs for Eastview.
After Rochester Patriots (21-14) responded with one run in the top of the third, Eastview answered with one of their own. Rochester scored when Kip Grunholz doubled off of Kathan Decker, driving in one run. Eastview then answered when Zach Kadlec doubled off of Matthew Halverson, driving in one run.
In the top of the fifth inning, Rochester Patriots tied things up at four. A sacrifice bunt by Jack Boehm scored one run for Rochester Patriots.
Kyle Nelson earned the win for Eastview. He tossed eight innings, surrendering zero runs, five hits, and striking out three. Boehm took the loss for Rochester Patriots. He pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up one run, three hits, and striking out one.
Halverson started the game for Rochester Patriots. He went seven and a third innings, allowing four runs, seven hits, and striking out two. Decker started the game for Eastview. He tossed four innings, allowing four runs, four hits, and striking out one.
