Spicer, MN - A five-run 5th inning was too much for Caledonia to overcome as they staked a 6-0 lead after that inning and never looked back en route to a 6-1 win in the Minnesota American Legion Baseball Division II tournament.
Host city Spicer could not have been nicer to Springfield who was ignited by a single from Isaac Fink that was followed by a Mitchell Leonard double that was a part of a 2-4 effort with 2 RBI and a run. Decker Scheffler was 2-4 with a run to help the offensive push at the plate for Springfield.

The season came to a close for Springfield who finished the tournament with a 3-1 record. Wins in pool play over Pine Island (2-0) and BOLD (5-3) set up a top seed and a game with Proctor. It was Proctor that prevailed in the seventh inning with a 2-1 win in the semi-finals that sent Springfield to the third place game and subsequent win.
Caledonia was 1-3 for the tournament by posting a 1-1 po
ol play record with a win over Proctor (2-0) and a loss to Stephen-Argyle (5-2). A one run loss to Pierz (8-7) in the extra innings sent Caledonia to the third place game with Springfield.
