Richfield, MN - Wayzata Post 118 topped Coon Rapids Post 334 in a sizzling pitcher’s duel by a score of 2-1. Matthew Bohlke started and earned the win working 6 ⅓ innings allowing three hits while striking out 9 Coon Rapids batters.
Blake Ask came on in relief for Wayzata and recorded the last two outs of the game to pick up the save in relief. The
ir counterpart Bryce Peterson worked all seven innings allowing two runs on four hits. Peterson struck out nine Wayzata hitters.
Coon Rapids scored the game’s first run in the third inning as it held up until the top of the sixth for post 118 who answered with two runs of their own. Delaney Dahl was 2-4 for Wayzata at the plate.
Braden Farley, Ryan Garlick and Peterson each picked up a hit for Coon Rapids.
Wayzata faces Eastview at 6pm at Richfield High School later today and Coon Rapids will lock horns with St. Michael at 3:30pm from Richfield.
